Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Ride distance: 0 km
- Upon your arrival at Chandigarh airport, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll meet your Royal Enfield motorcycle and the rest of the group for a detailed tour briefing, followed by a welcome dinner to kick off the adventure.
- Ride distance: Approx. 175 km
- Our journey begins! We leave the city behind and you’ll get your first taste of the Himalayan roads as we climb towards Narkanda. This beautiful hill station, surrounded by lush forests and apple orchards, is the perfect introduction to the mountains and our first stop for the night.
- Ride distance: Approx. 160 km
- Today we ride deeper into the mountains, following the path of the mighty Sutlej River. The roads wind through the stunning Kinnaur Valley, famous for its dramatic scenery. We’ll end the day by entering the breathtaking Sangla Valley, a serene and beautiful landscape that will be our home for the night.
- Ride distance: Approx. 40 km
- A shorter riding day allows for more exploration. In the morning, you’ll have the option to ride to the remote village of Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. Afterward, we’ll ride to the picturesque town of Kalpa, which offers a truly spectacular, direct view of the sacred Kinner Kailash mountain peak.
- Ride distance: Approx. 150 km
- This is the day the world transforms. We leave the last of the green valleys behind and enter the high-altitude cold desert of the Spiti Valley. The roads become more challenging and the landscapes more epic as we ride to Tabo, home to a 1000-year-old monastery that is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Ride distance: Approx. 50 km
- A day of incredible cultural immersion. After exploring Tabo monastery in the morning, our relatively short ride to Kaza allows for a major detour to visit the spectacular Dhankar Monastery, which seems to hang precariously on the edge of a cliff. We’ll arrive in Kaza, the main hub of Spiti, in the afternoon.
- Ride distance: Approx. 50 km
- Today is a rest and exploration day, where we’ll ride to some of the most iconic sights in Spiti. We’ll visit Key Monastery, the largest in the valley, and then ride to the villages of Komic and Hikkim—some of the highest inhabited villages in the world, complete with the world’s highest post office.
- Ride distance: Approx. 200 km
- The climax of the expedition. An early start for a long and challenging day. We’ll ascend the mighty Kunzum Pass (4,590m), leaving the Spiti Valley behind. The journey then continues through the rugged terrain and infamous water crossings of the Batal road before we climb the final Rohtang Pass and descend into the lush, green Kullu Valley, ending our ride in Manali.
- Ride distance: 0 km
- After a final group breakfast and farewells, our incredible Spiti Valley adventure concludes. Manali is a vibrant town with excellent transport links, giving you flexible options for your onward journey, such as the comfortable overnight bus to Delhi or a taxi to the Kullu airport.

While prior off-road experience is helpful, it’s not strictly necessary; a confident and proficient road rider will manage well.
A typical day starts after breakfast with a morning briefing. We aim to be on the road by 8:30 AM. The daily distance varies, from shorter cultural days of around 90-100 km to more demanding days of up to 200 km. We take regular breaks for photos, refreshments, and lunch, and we typically arrive at our destination in the late afternoon, leaving you time to relax and explore before dinner.
You will experience a wide variety of road conditions that showcase the diversity of the Himalayas. The journey includes smooth tarmac in the lower regions, but as we ascend into Spiti, you will encounter sections of gravel, broken tarmac, and unpaved roads. The ride also includes challenges like the high-altitude ascent to Kunzum Pass and the infamous water crossings on the Batal road.
Absolutely. We welcome pillion riders to join the adventure. We have specific pricing available for a pillion rider sharing a motorcycle with a primary rider. It’s a fantastic way for couples or friends to experience the Himalayas together.
Accommodation is provided in a mix of comfortable hotels and traditional guesthouses. All accommodation is on a twin-sharing basis. If you prefer your own space, a single-room supplement is available for an additional charge.
Daily breakfast and dinner are included in the tour price. We ensure meals are hygienic and wholesome. Lunches are generally not included to give you the freedom to explore local cuisines. On the rest day in Kaza, dinner is also not included, allowing you to fully explore the local cafes and restaurants. We also provide complimentary tea, coffee, and water at our scheduled ride stops.

Your health and safety are our top priority. Our itinerary is carefully designed for gradual acclimatization. We ensure a slow ascent through the Kinnaur valley with overnight stops in places like Narkanda and Kalpa, and include a crucial rest day in Kaza (3,800m) to help you adjust. Our guides are experienced in monitoring for symptoms of altitude sickness, and we carry a first-aid kit and an oxygen cylinder for emergencies.
You are fully supported throughout the entire journey. The group is led by an experienced Lead Rider who knows the route intimately. A skilled Royal Enfield mechanic accompanies us to handle any technical issues. Furthermore, a support vehicle follows the group to carry your luggage, spare parts, and other supplies.
Riding in the Himalayas is a true adventure, but it also comes with inherent risks. We require all riders to have comprehensive insurance to ensure you are covered for any medical emergencies, trip cancellations, or other unforeseen circumstances. To secure your spot on one of our adventures, we have a simple and transparent payment and cancellation policy.
Payment Process:
- Booking Confirmation: A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tour cost is required to confirm your booking and reserve your motorcycle.
- Final Payment: The remaining 75% balance is due 60 days before your tour departure date. We will send you a reminder email before the due date.
Cancellation Policy:
We understand that plans can sometimes change. However, as we make non-refundable advance payments to our partners (such as hotels and permit offices), our cancellation policy is as follows, based on the date we receive your written cancellation notice:
- If you cancel more than 90 days before departure: We will refund the full amount you have paid, minus a $150 USD administrative fee per person.
- If you cancel between 61 and 90 days before departure: Your 25% deposit is non-refundable. Any additional amount you have paid will be refunded.
- If you cancel between 31 and 60 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost is non-refundable.
- If you cancel 30 days or less before departure: 100% of the tour cost is non-refundable.
You will need a valid passport with at least six months of validity, a valid visa for India, and your motorcycle driver’s license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP). We recommend carrying both digital and physical copies of these documents.
While personal riding gear is not included, we can provide a detailed recommended packing list upon booking. Key items include a high-quality helmet, armoured riding jacket, riding pants, gloves, and sturdy boots. You should also pack clothing that can be worn in layers, as temperatures can vary significantly from the plains to the high passes.
