South East Royal Rajasthan Tour
The distances indicated in this program are approximate and can vary substantially, depending on road conditions and changes to the routing to accommodate changing circumstances. We always ride at a comfortable, limited speed for safety. And for time to stop and talk with people, see interesting sites and not least have the famous chai masala – and Parle G biscuits. Experience is, that a speed of 35-40 km/hr. is the normal average for an entire day. And, we travel in daylight only, never night time. The practicalities of packing for the trip will be sorted out. Your Enfield motorcycle is fitted with two large metal panniers and a luggage rack. A medium sized grip or sausage bag will be useful to supplement the panniers. Baggage straps will be needed for fastening this. A small tank bag, possibly with magnets, may be useful for those things you want to keep handy. We expect dry weather in Rajasthan, but no absolute guarantee. Daytime temperatures are likely to be around 20 degrees. At night it can get quite cool and clothing should take account hereof.

Arrival in Delhi Airport early morning
We recommend that you book your flight with arrival in the early morning of Day 1 of the tour. (If however, you decide to arrive the day before, we shall meet you at the airport and arrange transport and extra hotel accommodation in Delhi. You may then have an opportunity for some sightseeing in Delhi).
Arriving early morning at the international airport we will meet you at the exit and we have transport ready to go by bus/minibus to Agra and Bharatpur, 250 km. The journey will take some 5-6 hours. Before leaving, we will visit a Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) in Delhi, arrange breakfast and currency exchange at a favorable rate.
Traveling on the bus you will get a first impression of the Indian roads and traffic. Our first stop will be at Agra where we visit the Taj Mahal. The world-famous mausoleum for Emperor Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Mahal and completed in 1653. Afterwards we continue the short distance to Bharatpur and check in at our hotel in Bharatpur, Laxmi Vilas Palace. Here you will also find our motorcycles, having been transported here by truck.

Bharatpur
Bharatpur is a busy town and an ideal base for reaching several unique attractions. In the town itself you find the Lohargarh Fort. In the immediate vicinity is Keoladeo, a major wetland, famous for its rich population of migratory birds. After a good monsoon, there is a very good chance that the park is teaming with birds. At a limited distance we find the fascinating, abandoned imperial city, Fathepur Sikri.
Today we rise early, as the best time to see the bird park, is the early morning. Motor vehicles are not allowed in, but bicycles can be rented as an alternative to walking. Also cycle rickshaws are available. After the visit to the bird park, probably some 3-4 hours, and breakfast, it is time to have a ride and get confident with the bike. Fatehpur Sikri, only some 20 km distant, is a fascinating city. Built as the imperial capital in the Mughal empire in 1571 it was shortly after mysteriously abandoned. A beautiful city, well preserved and mind boggling. Another attraction is the old Deeg Palace some 35 km distant. The palace, abandoned but preserved, more or less in its original condition, is famous for its extensive and innovative fountains.
Before starting out on the bikes, there will be a full briefing on the road and traffic conditions and an introduction to the bike. A first familiarization ride in the local area will give a feel of the Enfield, before we proceed to Fathepur Sikri and Deeg.
